Welcome to West Keller Woodshop. Founded by Joseph Vandrew, a furniture maker, located in Apex, NC.

 

     Beginning at a young age, Joseph established a strong appreciation for woodworking in his grandfather’s wood shop on West Keller St. in Pennsylvania. Here, he found his passion for the craft and has continued exploring the many facets of the trade in wood shops across the country; honing his skills alongside many talented craftspeople from Philadelphia to Seattle before finally settling in North Carolina.

     Joseph is most inspired by the well-loved furniture found in many homes and antique stores. Ones that were built to serve a function and were less of a fashion statement. Joseph’s design goals for furniture are to create functional pieces of beautiful form that are built to withstand the forces of everyday use. Furniture that is comfortable to use and is a reminder of home. Furniture that begs to be repaired after years of heavy use rather than be replaced. Furniture that becomes a cherished element of the home.
